Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – A Dive into the Unknown
Massive Entertainment, in collaboration with James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney, unveiled during Ubisoft Forward that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will debut on December 7 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, and PC through Ubisoft Connect.
The game immerses players into the heart of Pandora as a Na’vi who wakes up years after being taken as a child and raised by the human militaristic corporation, the RDA. As a stranger in your birthplace, players must confront the returning RDA and their threat to Pandora, rediscovering their Na’vi heritage in the process.
Unique Gameplay Mechanics
Frontiers of Pandora offers a standalone adventure set within the Avatar universe, inviting players to explore and safeguard the Western Frontier, a never-seen-before continent of Pandora. The game is experienced from a first-person perspective, and players can customize their Na’vi avatar, which includes body types, voices, and body paint options.
Gameplay reflects a fusion of human and Na’vi characteristics. Players can leverage their acquired human knowledge of weapons and technology from years with the RDA, along with newfound Na’vi strengths and agility in the open world.
Players can use an assortment of combat mechanisms, from human weapons like assault rifles and shotguns to traditional Na’vi weaponry such as bows and spearthrowers. Environmental regeneration occurs as players resist the RDA, unveiling new resources essential for crafting optimal gear and weapons.
Aerial combat is also integrated into the gameplay, allowing players to take flight on their customized banshee companion – an ikran, to explore the vast Western Frontier.
Optimized for New-Gen Platforms
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has been built exclusively to optimize the capabilities of new-gen consoles and PCs, with intricate details, superior rendering, dense environments, and immersive audio. The game will include accessibility options like control remapping, adjustable subtitles, and color-blind modes upon launch.
In addition to the single-player experience, the game provides an option for two-player online co-op, adding a social dimension to the exploration of Pandora.
Pre-Order Bonuses and Ubisoft+ Subscription
There are exclusive perks for PlayStation users, who will receive the free cosmetic Aranahe Warrior Pack unlockable content. Players can pre-order various editions of the game including Standard, Collector’s, Ultimate, and Gold versions, each offering additional content. Pre-ordering any edition offers a “Child of Two Worlds” bonus comprising a character cosmetic set and a weapon skin. To pre-order these editions, players can visit the Ubisoft store.
